I've used Colchicine before and it Work's for me, the Course is 4 day's, and it does the Trick.

If I drink too much wine my joints (knuckles) are swollen. Pain is not too much but I can feel I am not as agile with my hands.
So I take one or two and wait a few hours and another one.
It always helps!!!

However, do not take more than the stated 12 !! 
Overdoses are highly toxic.

Take 2 tablets then 1 an hour later. If you do this at the very start of a gout attack it stops the swelling and burning. They work really well. You must check they're compatible with other medications you are taking.
