Results vary from person to person, and weight loss is not guaranteed. In clinical trials, semaglutide 2.4 mg led to clinically meaningful, sustained weight loss when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Your prescriber can discuss realistic expectations based on your health and circumstances.

How is Wegovy FlexTouch delivered, and is it discreet?

Your Wegovy pen is dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy and sent in plain, discreet packaging using tracked, temperature-controlled (cold-chain) delivery that keeps the medicine at the right temperature. You will be able to choose a convenient delivery option once your treatment is approved.

How is Wegovy FlexTouch injected?

You inject it under the skin (subcutaneously) once a week using the pre-filled FlexTouch pen, into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. You can inject at any time of day, with or without food, and it helps to rotate the injection site each week. Your consultation includes guidance on using the pen safely.

Why does Wegovy need to start at a low dose?

The 0.25 mg starting dose reduces gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea while your body adjusts. The dose is then increased in steps, usually every four weeks, up to the 2.4 mg maintenance dose. This gradual titration is a standard part of treatment.

Does Wegovy have benefits beyond weight loss?

Yes. As well as weight management, semaglutide 2.4 mg is licensed to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, in adults with established cardiovascular disease and overweight or obesity. This followed the SELECT trial and was approved by the MHRA and recommended by NICE.

How should Wegovy FlexTouch be stored?

Wegovy is easy to store and does not need to stay in the fridge the whole time. Keep unopened pens in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C until you are ready to start. Once you begin using a pen, it does not need continuous refrigeration and can be kept at room temperature, below 30°C, for up to six weeks. Never freeze Wegovy, and keep the cap on to protect it from light.

What happens if you miss a weekly dose?

If it has been five days or less since your missed dose, take it as soon as you remember. If more than five days have passed, skip it and take your next dose on your usual scheduled day. Never take two doses close together. If you are unsure, ask your pharmacist.
